Privacy Policy

Studyhub provides accounts, profiles, lessons, books, classes, and collaboration tools. This page describes how those features handle information.

Account and sign-in information

We store your email address, profile information, account identifiers, and preferences. Passwords are stored as hashes. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your provider's account identifier, email and verification information, and available name and profile picture. We use these to authenticate you, create your profile, and connect sign-in methods only after any required email confirmation.

Google sign-in requests basic identity, email, and profile access. It does not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or Classroom content. Google access tokens are used temporarily to retrieve sign-in information and are not stored in the account database. Connecting Google does not make your Studyhub content public.

Learning content and visibility

We store content you create and upload, class participation, answers, and learning activity needed to provide Studyhub. Public profiles and content marked public can be seen by others. Content shared with a class or organization is available according to its access settings. Review those settings before sharing personal or student information.

Services used to operate Studyhub

Studyhub uses Fly.io for hosting, Cloudflare for media storage and connectivity, Mailgun for account emails, and Honeybadger and Grafana for error and performance monitoring. These services process the information needed for their function. Translation features send requested text to DeepL. Optional AI Copilot features send prompts and relevant lesson context through OpenRouter to the model provider selected for that feature. Avoid including information in these features that you are not authorized to share.

Cookies, security, and retention

We use cookies for signed-in sessions and sign-in protection, and browser storage for preferences such as theme. OAuth email confirmations are tied to the browser that requested them, expire after 15 minutes, and are removed by periodic cleanup. Email delivery counters are retained for the rolling hourly sending limit. Other account, content, and operational records remain as needed to operate the service, handle requests, and maintain security; backups and service-provider records may persist separately.

Your choices and questions

You can edit your profile and content through Studyhub. You can revoke Studyhub's access in your Google or GitHub account settings; revoking access does not itself delete your Studyhub account or previously stored content. For privacy questions, account deletion, or correction requests, contact the Studyhub operator . If you use Studyhub through a school, also contact the school about information it controls.
